This litter should be the
perfect combination of field talent and family pet. Both Sam
and Ruby are exceptional house dogs. Both are easy going and
happy to follow me around the house or lay by the couch as I watch
TV at the end of the day. They are delighted to play with
small children and are always very gentle with them. The
youngest of children can work with these dogs.
However, pick
up your gun and head out to pheasant hunt and a very different dog
wakes up. Sam and Ruby are both talented field dogs. They
demonstrate an intensity and drive for training and for hunting.
Both are highly intelligent and easily trained. They do not
forget where they have found birds in the past and can transfer that
information to a new field or pond. Sam is the "go to" dog for
duck or goose hunting. He will sleep in the blind or quietly
wait for the bird to fall. He would never disturb the hunt.
However, once the birds are down, he is all business and ready to
work.
This breeding has a wealth
of talent behind it. There are Field Champions, Field Trial
Placements, Master Hunters, Outstanding Sires and Dams, and an
assortment of other titles. These are dogs that have proven their
talent in the field, their drive and trainability, and their ability
to pass these traits on to their offspring. These dogs are ready to
hunt or train all day. Both Sam and Ruby are excellent examples of
the field Golden Retriever.

General Adoption Information
Adopting a puppy is a wonderful and exciting time in a persons life.
It also carries tremendous responsibility and expense. I made the
decision to breed all of the puppies from my kennel so I have a
responsibility to ensure they are placed in loving, stable homes.
All adoptions must be approved and accepted by me. I reserve the
right to refuse placement of a puppy for any reason.
A deposit will hold your puppy until he or she is old enough to go home.
Deposits on puppies prior to their final vet visit (about 6 weeks old)
are contingent on our Vet declaring the puppy healthy. If
the puppy is not healthy and ready to be placed in their new home then
100% of the deposit will be refunded or the deposit can be applied to a
different puppy or to a puppy from a future litter - your choice.
A $200 deposit is required to hold your puppy.
Deposits are NOT refundable if you change your mind or find a different
puppy that you want more. Refunds are NOT refunded if you fail to
make arrangements to pick up your puppy by the date stated on the
contract. I have a limited number of positions available for
puppies to stay for basic training beyond 8 weeks old. Please
inquire directly if you are interested. Prices vary depending on
training level requested.
Deposits ARE transferable to future litters if circumstances change and
now is not the best time to add a puppy to your family.
If at any point in your dog's life you find that you
can no longer care for your dog, please contact me as soon as possible.
I will take back any dog that I have placed with no re-homing fee.
No refund of purchase price will be made.
At no time should a dog from Maple Hills Kennel be placed in a shelter
or surrendered to a Humane Society.
